Small Wild Clay Cylinder Vase

A$90.00

The smallest of my handcrafted, coil built cylinder vases! A timeless yet contemporary design in a range of matte glazes I've created to lend texture and tonal depth.

My vases are made from wild clays local to my home town in Central Victoria, Dja Dja Wurrung country. I dig, sieve, dry, age and test the clays myself, a long and labour intensive process, making these place specific pieces truly unique and special. Wild clays reflect the geological characteristics of their origin, imparting a distinct and nonhomogeneous mineral composition and visual appearance. I feel strongly that digging my own clay reduces the environmental footprint associated with global mining and distribution practices.

These cuties are made from a mix of Sandon earthenware clay, Pittong kaolin and Burrumbeet sand with a white Pittong kaolin slip.

Approximately 16 cm (h) x 3 cm (w)
