FAQ’s

Why are there holes at the base of your pots?

They are not holes, the deep indentation at the base of my pots is where I sign the piece with a stamp inscribed with my initials. The stamp does not perforate the wall of the pot.

Do your vases hold water?

Yes absolutely they do! All my work is fired to 1300 degrees (super hot), at which point the particles fuse and the clay body becomes vitreous. My work is strong, water tight and designed for functional, everyday use.

What are the bowls for?

Inexplicably, people quite often point to one of my bowls at market and say “what’s that for?”. I’ll elaborate. Bowls! Pivotal pieces of dinnerware and serveware. Use them for your breakfast cereal, soup, to serve salt, pepper, sauces, preserves, condiments, salads and delicious meals, to pop your avocadoes in while they ripen, as decorative features on your shelf or kitchen benchtop and even as storage vessels for your rings and treasures. The sky’s the limit on this one, let your imagination soar!

Does my plant pot come with a plant inside it if I place my order online?

If you purchase your plant pot online you will receive the plant pot only as unfortunately I can’t send you a plant in the post! The plants are a market freebie so if you’re after both, check out the Events section of my website for my upcoming gigs.

How do I care for my handcrafted pottery?

My pots have not been tested for dishwasher or oven safety so err on the side of caution, warm soapy hand wash only. Avoid soaking or leaving acidic foods inside the pots for prolonged periods.

I’ve noticed staining on my pottery, will it come out?

Yes it will. Gently rub dishwashing liquid or baking soda paste onto the surface of the pot and you should be able to loosen the stain.
